No shit, Sherlock !?!

According to our illustrious Foreign Secretary there is a ‘strong possibility’ that the Russian jet brought down over the Sinai desert was subject to an ‘explosive device’. Or, to put it in plain language (no pun intended) it was a bomb what done it.

This has taken several days for the experts to work out. Personally, I thought that as soon as I heard about it and the first pictures I saw (see above) made it rather obvious. Metal fuselage bits bowing outwards do rather suggest a blast from inside the plane.

IS claimed responsibility almost immediately. They were laughed at. Well, who’s having the last laugh now.

The security procedures at Sharm are a joke. We all know it. IS certainly knew it and took advantage of it.

My hope now is that the EU, US and Russia start co-operating and stop behaving like kids in the playground and pool resources to deal with these bastards once and for all – although I suspect Putin is the only one with the balls to actually do it.

None of our lot have the stomach for it. Nor do the yanks…

You are a victim of the Media. The 'anti-ISIS' combatants are co-operating; fully even, but certain 'ideologies' can't allow that to be discovered by the ignorant masses in the countries concerned. Russia is the enemy – has been since at least Crimea, the Charge and the Thin Red Line. Old habits die hard. No matter what Russia might do, the West will find a way to put a negative spin on it. It is simply a cultural imperative.

  2. Unfortunately, I feel – or rather, fear – that you have probably hit the nail squarely on the head. And I'm equally worried that Pravda, Izvestia (or whatever they're called today) are feeding the same crap to the Russian population. Whilst our 'leaders' have one eye on the ball (hopefully) and the other on their PR, screw-ups are inevitable.
